Dr. Pugh Receives AWS Award

Dr. Carla Pugh, a professor in the Division of General Surgery and Director of the TECI Center, was selected as one of the 2019 Olga Jonasson Distinguished Member Award recipients.
The award is named in memory of Olga Jonasson, MD who was the first female chair of an academic department of surgery and a leader in the American College of Surgeons. The award is given to an Association of Women Surgeons (AWS) member who, through outstanding mentorship, enables and encourages women surgeons to realize their personal and professional goals.
The award will be formally presented at the AWS Foundation Awards Dinner on Monday, October 28, held in conjunction with the 2019 American College of Surgeons Annual Clinical Congress.
