Dr. Maggio Appointed Clinical Professor

Dr. Paul Maggio has been appointed Clinical Professor in Surgery in the School of Medicine effective December 1, 2022. 

"Dr. Maggio has made consequential contributions to quality improvement and clinical effectiveness in our division, department, and Stanford health care. His exceptional contributions have garnered national awards and impacted patient care," said Division of General Surgery Chief Dr. Electron Kebebew. "We are delighted about his well-deserved promotion to clinical professor and fortunate to have him at Stanford."

Dr. Maggio became Stanford Health Care's Chief Quality Officer in April 2021. He is also the Associate Chief Medical Officer of Operational Effectiveness and Medical Director of Informatics. Prior to these roles he also served as Associate Director of the Adult Intensive Care Unit and Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs in the Department of Surgery.

Dr. Maggio completed his residency in General Surgery at Brown University and then completed a fellowship in Adult Surgical Critical Care and Trauma at the University of Michigan. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan and is triple board certified in General Surgery, Critical Care, and Medical Informatics.
