Dr. George Wins Subspecialty Young Investigators Award

Dr. Elizabeth George, a resident in the Division of Vascular Surgery, has been selected to receive the Association for Academic Surgery's (AAS) Outstanding Resident Research Award-Outcomes for her abstract entitled, “Frailty Confers High Mortality Risk in Low-, Moderate- and High-Surgical Risk Specialties." 

"I am grateful for the opportunity to represent the Division and Stanford Surgery at ASC, and I couldn't have produced such meaningful research without all of [the] excellent mentorship and unwavering support along the way," said Dr. George.

Dr. George will receive a certificate from the AAS and a cash prize of $500.  The award will be presented at the 2020 Academic Surgical Congress (ASC) in Orlando, FL during the AAS Research Awards Session on Thursday, February 6 at 9:30 AM.
