Dr. Pham Appointed Dir. of Living Donor Kidney Transplant Program

Dr. Tom Pham
Dr. Tom Pham has been appointed Surgical Director of Stanford’s Living Donor Kidney Transplant Program.
“Dr. Pham introduced the use of the Da Vinci robot to Stanford for living donor nephrectomies in Nov 2022. Since then, he has performed more than 20 robotic nephrectomies. His next goal is to use the Da Vinci for kidney implantation,” wrote Division of Abdominal Transplantation Chief Dr. Carlos Esquivel in his announcement to the department.
Stanford is a leader in kidney transplantation. Since the first kidney was transplanted in the state of California at Stanford more than 1200 kidney transplants have been performed.
Pham is a clinical associate professor in the Department of Surgery.
