Dr. Korndorffer Nominated to AOA

Dr. Jim Korndorffer has been nominated by the University of South Florida (USF) Marsani College of Medicine Gamma Florida Chapter for Membership into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Society in the Alumni category.
“Selection as an alumnus is a means of recognizing and honoring those individuals who have distinguished themselves in their career, and you have clearly done that!” wrote AOA Chapter Councilor Catherine M. Lynch, MD. “So pleased to see what our fellow classmate has accomplished!”
Korndorffer received his medical degree from USF before pursuing surgical residency at Carolinas Medical Center. Today he is board certified in general surgery specializing in minimally invasive surgery and Vice Chair of Education for the Department of Surgery at Stanford. He was nominated by Stanford Department Chair Dr. Mary Hawn and Dr. Daniel Dent, vice chair for education at UT Health San Antonio.
“Dan Dent is a leader in surgical education and colleague of Dr. Korndorffer’s,” said Hawn. “Dan spearheaded putting together Jim's nomination, and I was happy to support this worthy recognition of Jim's contributions to surgery and medical education!”
