Dr. Knowlton wins AAST Canizaro Award

Dr. Lisa Knowlton
Dr. Lisa Knowlton has won the Canizaro Award at the 82nd annual meeting of the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma (AAST). The Canizaro Award recognizes the best paper by a new full member. Her paper is titled “Do Hospital-Based Emergency Medicaid Programs Benefit Trauma Centers? A Mixed-Methods Analysis.” The award is named for Dr. Peter C. Canizaro, a pioneer in trauma surgery.
Dr. Knowlton is an assistant professor in the Division of General Surgery’s Trauma and Acute Care section and an NIH-funded researcher.
