Surgical Education Week is a combined meeting between the Association of Surgical Education (ASE) and the Association of Program Directors in Surgery (APDS). This year’s meeting took place in San Diego, CA from April 11-13 and our team from the Stanford's Surgical Education Team was in full force. Here’s a recap:

The team, under the leadership of Cara Liebert, received an ASE Gold Grant to fund a pilot study assessing the quality of narrative feedback in end-of-rotation evaluations.
Current Surgical Education Fellows Rachel Jensen and Ananya Anand as well as Previous Surgical Education Fellow LaDonna Kearse received ASE Recognition of Excellence Awards for their contributions to surgical education.

Stanford Health Care (SHC) performed the first FDA-approved cell therapy for solid tumor case in the country. AMTAGVI (lifileucel) was administered to a patient with metastatic melanoma on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.
