"We had a robust number of applications and some really good proposals," said Department Chair Dr. Mary Hawn.
Technology/Innovation and Transdisciplinary Seed Grants awardees will be announced at a later date.
2025 Seed Grant Awardees will present at Department Grand Rounds on February 17, March 24, and May 19th. Watch previous presentations below:

Stanford Multidisciplinary Quality Rounds Transforms Patient Care Through Collaboration
Stanford MDQ is a quarterly event at Stanford Hospital that gathers more than 400 participants from various departments to review surgical cases using deidentified Black Box footage. This initiative, now in its third year as of September, aims to highlight broader themes in patient care quality and safety and focuses on process improvements rather than individual performance.

Stanford Surgery Wins a 2026 AAMC GIA Award for Excellence
Stanford University’s Department of Surgery received national recognition for their work from the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Group on Institutional Advancement (GIA). "Cubes" won a Silver Award for Excellence in the Shoestring category.
