Dr. Miller Finalist for Chassin Award

Dr. Miquell Miller was a top 10 finalist for the 2020 Jameson L. Chassin, MD, FACS, Award for Professionalism in General Surgery. The Chassin Award is presented by the American College of Surgeons to a chief resident in general surgery who exemplifies the values of compassion, technical skill, and devotion to science and learning.

"We are so proud of [Dr. Miller] and all [she has] done to elevate inclusion, not just in our department, but across Stanford Medicine!" wrote Dr. Hawn.

Miller was founder and chair of Stanford's GME Diversity Committee. She's also an active member of the Surgery Department's JEDI Council, winner of the 2019 SBAS Claude Organ Resident Research Award, and creator of the Hurricane Dorian Medical Relief Fund to support rebuilding in her home country of the Bahamas.
