Dr. Hyun Receives ASAF Fellowship Research Award

Dr. Jeong Hyun has received the American Surgical Association Foundation (ASAF) Fellowship Research Award. According to the ASAF's website, the purpose of the award is to "support and encourage gifted young surgeons who choose careers in investigation and academic surgery." Dr. Hyun, an assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Surgery and General Surgery Residency Program alumnus, will receive $75,000 per year for two years for his research proposal titled, “Characterization of fibrosis in Crohn's disease through mesenteric adipose tissue” starting July 1, 2022. Dr. Hyun will also have the opportunity to present his research at the 2024 ASA Annual Meeting.
