Dr. Sox-Harris Appointed Co-Chair of the AcademyHealth Surgical and Perioperative Care Interest Group

Dr. Sox-Harris has been appointed co-chair of the AcademyHealth Surgical and Perioperative Care Interest Group. Sox-Harris, who has been a member of the group since 2017, will serve a 2-year term.
“The committee organizes programming related to surgical health services and outcomes research for the AcademyHealth Annual Research Meeting, as well as educational events during the year,” said Sox-Harris.
According to their website: Within AcademyHealth, the Surgical and Perioperative Care Interest Group (IG) is a unique network of multi-professional stakeholders focused on the research and policy issues most important to surgical and perioperative patients. The IG offers a common venue for surgeons, anesthesiologists, intensivists, proceduralists, nurses, health policy analysts, researchers, and policymakers to discuss common, high priority issues that affect the value of care and quality of life for individuals undergoing surgery.
Sox-Harris, who is a Professor in the Department of Surgery’s S-SPIRE Center and Research Career Scientist with the Center for Innovation to Implementation, will serve alongside fellow co-chair Dr. Marc Philip Pimentel, Medical Director - Brigham and Women's Hospital.
