Dr. Martinez Wins AST Basic Science Established Investigator Award

Dr. Olivia Martinez was the 2022 winner of the American Society of Transplantation's Basic Science Established Investigator Award. The award honors a senior basic scientist in the field of transplantation at the Professor level who has made significant contributions and is recognized as an expert in their field. Dr. Martinez's research focuses on Epstein Barr Virus-mediated mechanisms of immune evasion.

The award was presented at the American Transplant Congress, which was held in Boston the first week of June. Faculty and trainees from Stanford's Division of Abdominal Transplantation acted as moderators and presented at sessions throughout the multi-day event.
