Dr. Klarin receives Career Development Award

Dr. Derek Klarin received a Career Development Award from the VA's Biomedical Laboratory Research and Development Department. The funding will go towards his research project "Clonal hematopoiesis and risk of PAD."
"Both our last 2 recruits, Elsie and Derek, have been funded on their first career development award submissions. They are setting a high bar for future faculty," said Shipra Arya. "Congratulations Derek and a big 'thank you' to Phil for his support and mentorship."
Dr. Klarin started in the Division of Vascular Surgery as an assistant professor at the end of August.
