Dr. Narayan Selected to Serve on JOGS Editorial Board

October 18, 2019

Dr. Raja Narayan, a general surgery resident, has been selected to serve as the Senior Resident Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery.

"I am interested in getting involved in the journal peer-review process to learn more about how the manuscripts we submit summarizing months or even years of research are appraised," said Narayan. "I hope to learn what editors and reviewers look for in candidate manuscripts to guide my own research writing and also to shape how I critically review other papers."

Over his two-year term, Narayan will help with manuscript review, visual abstract review, and to coordinate a group of residents that will be mentored on how to create visual abstracts.

"I am excited to take on this role and look forward to learning more about the peer review process from this new vantage point," said Narayan.
