Dr. Fox Receives PSF Grant

April 16, 2020

Dr. Paige Fox, an assistant professor in the Division of Plastic Surgery, has been awarded a grant by the Plastic Surgery Foundation (PSF). The Innovation in Wound Care Research and Academic Development Fellowship Grant Program will provide $150,000 a year for two years to fund her research project "Topical Antibiotic Elution in a Collagen Rich Hydrogel for Chronic Wound Healing.”

"The goal is to create personalized wound care treatment for patients with chronically infected non-healing wounds," said Fox, who is collaborating with Drs. James Chang and Geoffrey Gurtner on the grant. "Preliminary data for the grant was supported through the first round of Department of Surgery seed grants; that helped get my project up and going."

Fox says she expects the first publication on this data to be published soon and recognizes Stanford Medical Scholars Jung Gi Min and Uriel Sanchez Rangel for their hard work on the preliminary data and grant writing.
