Bilal completed his undergraduate and graduate education at the University
of Pennsylvania in Bioengineering. He focused on biomechanics and instrument
design. Following the completion of his Masters of Science in Engineering
he joined Synygy, a pharmaceutical consulting company as a staff consultant.
After completing his medical education at Thomas Jefferson Medical College
he started a general surgery residency at the University of Pennsylvania.
He is currently a second year resident. He started as an undergraduate
in the Bioengineering and Neurosurgery departments focusing on the neurotrophic
effects of b-FGF in traumatic brain injury. In medical school, he was
involved in clinical projects to develop a classification system for
odontoid fractures and to determine familial risk in HNPCC.
